as an extension to the IE sucks balls thread... http://www.onethreeone.com/blog/archives/000337.php It truly, really, seriously saddens me to read that, and yet I completely understand why you're doing that. Such is the sad truth of the internet today... :( |

Well I'm not giving up on it for every site. But for 3 column layouts, it's just a total pain in the ass. And for client sites, like I said, all they care about is getting it cheap and quick so I might as well slap it together and cash my check. I know that's frowned upon and looks like I'm giving in or whatever, but I just don't have the will to fight with IE anymore. Or fight with clients over why I can't do this or that because I'm trying not to use tables. Many of the huge standards advocates of today are also cashing huge checks. They get paid to sit around and preach about standards, or to come up with some new trick. I get paid to make small brochure web sites, stuff they would never touch. But anyway, I'm not talking about abandoning it altogether. I'll just use a single table to setup the columns, and everything else will be CSS. That will solve most of the problems.

No, no... I'm just saying, it's sad to see a person have to design below his potential because of such a silly reason. ..
