Uhm the quality is actually better on a flatscreen, I would rather work with one of those than working with this huge one I got now...

Actually you need to be careful. A lot of LCD's still have odd shades of grey and some blues. Do your homework first... I think the problems have gotten better but you still need to research black levels and color issues.

I'm assuming you are referring to LCD vs CRT, not just a rounded or flat CRT... CRT's still have the best color in general, and usually more display options as well as far as resolution and stuff goes.

LCD's can not only mess up the colors, but depending on where your head is in relation to the screen, the colors can change noticeably. I do a lot of development on my Powerbook screen, and that can be a problem. I bought a 19" CRT at home to do most of my designing on, partly for that reason.

Plus, you can get two very nice CRT's for the price of one mediocre LCD. Something to think about.

I "had" a Dell 17in' ultrasharp LCD and the colors were off. I no longer have that. The viewing angles were fine but some colors were really bad... I have an Apple Studio Display and it seems pretty good. The viewing angles are good but some colors, mainly grays are still not 100% true. But it is much more accurate than a lot of LCD's I've used or seen.

I hear the NEC's are pretty good but I've never actually used one. Also look into LG's and Sony.

The only plus for LCD monitors is that they are very slim, CRT have better image/color quality and far less expensive.

CRT is the way to go, always.
