Of course they're not around, they're out enjoying their birthday instead of spending it here with us computer-addicts. Happy Birthday you old farts. |

Ah thanks!!!! Well I didn't really get much, but a week spent in the dreadful heat sipping mucho marguritas (sp?) and pina coladas at a beyond words amazing place in South Puerta Vallarta with a window that looked down on the tourquoise water beach. Although between the drinking and eating I now fit the description of Fat Bastard. and not to forget the blisters on my back. Ouch. Never been burned by the sun this bad =\ and happy b-day Alpha! *I did take a few photos, so when we get them developed (yes the wifey wanted a non-digital camera - lol) I will scan a few. |

Hehe... We lucked out. So for airfare + $35 US a day, we lived la vida loca. People normally would shell out $1200 + a day for what we paid $35. Got to love connections. =) We went with our friends who had the connection. Here is where we stayed: http://www.rentalo.com/properties/villa_quinta_del_mar1.html The place was empty, except a couple of guys from the states who were working for the owner setting up a new pharmacy (the owner has more money than you could possbily imagine...) We would get fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, bowls of the best guacamole I have ever had in my life, various breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, and all we could drink. Then pop into town and soak up the night life (if we weren't too bloated). Also caught a few Euro 2k4 games while we were there (Caught the awesome England vs Portugal match). Unfortuanetly my first day at the beach was my last. Got burned so bad I could barely sleep at night. It was so hot and humid my wife who is brown to begin with got burned as well. She claimed it was her first time ever getting sun burned (yikes!) It was definitely a great trip. I don't think I could live that lazily for very long, but for a 6 days it was cool. Drinking after breakfast till 12-2 am is a little overkill after a week. But it seems like thats all anyone wants you to do. I don't remember seeing a place that didn't have a bar. It's pretty nuts. |
