so, I'm trying to make this new site :/ and I need to include a store front on it and make it so yuo can purchase things (obviously).. anyway

whats some good ecommerce software ? obviously there's things like miva if you have a phd or something ; / I'm not really too concerned about the price since I'll just include it in my quote anyway but cheaper looks better!.. sometimes ...

Look @ http://www.oscommerce.com for an open source solution.

http://www.oscdox.com for documentation and they have links to a "bundled" version of oscommerce which includes most of the popular hacks and modules for OSC, called MS2MAX.

oscommerce sucks. i've said it a million times. but i still use it because it's the only damn option that doesn't cost 20 million dollars.

i used www.zencart.com last time though and it was a little better. but still based on osc.

www.eshox.com is better than both. but it's commercial.

I still use Miva on 3 current stores. I like Miva originally because it was an out-of-box solution that did everything. I've since changed my mind. If you want to customize, you have to learn a new language (Mivascript) which is not worth it.
