Not trying to start anything, because most of us do it, but you and guys like Mattboy are very quick to tell someone how wrong they and their sources are and matter of factly say how right you and your sources are. Arguements are two way streets. It takes more tact to consider their opinions and debate them rather then immediately dismiss what they have to say. You can't say, no you're wrong, I'm right, because, really, who are you? So a comment like that is a little uncalled for.

I rarely EVER question a source unless it is a blog or some other personal article (Michael Moore, Bill O'Reilly, etc.). Mattboy is the one who questions sources, so take offense with him, not me. Reading my reply again, i was a bit of a jerk. I'm not saying it isn't a true statement for some people here, but you're right in saying it was uncalled for.

It is quite clear that there is a "right" answer here. Either Osama and Saddam had connections with one another, or they did not. Correct? I think i have the right answer, Tele thinks he has the right answer. It's a debate, i mean nothing personal by it all.

Tele, in all seriousness - do you check various sources for your news or just the BBC?

I encourage you to open yourself up to different sources, just to get a better understanding of the news you're reading about. I'm scared that people like you follow the BBC and the New York Times believing they're gospel truth without challenging it.

After a while, you get to a point where you're oblivious to any amount of bull**** being throw at you - and you just take it as fact. You have to be careful, with news especially because there are so many people who can twist stories so many different ways to make them fit their agenda.

It's not that I'm hating on the BBC, I used an article for them in my post - (Although I hid the links under real words so everybody probably missed them.) - but your bull**** meter has to be fully operational when reading news stories, cause somebody's agenda is probably hiding behind it.

It's the same thing they do in advertising movies. They throw out all the good ratings they got and leave the bad ones out so people will want to see the movie. Just like newspapers who leave out the stories that don't bend people into their way of thinking.

While I'm on the loose subject of movies and politics - did anybody hear about a UAE group support and offer to finance Farenheit 9/11? That was hilarious.

And please - I don't want ANYBODY to make a post saying that everybody needs to see the movie so they can find out how the Administration screwed the county...I can't think of anybody with less credibility than Michael Moore.

Well of course I'm going to question something from the BBC, just as I would question something from NewsMax. I even linked to a story on NYPost, and quoted a story from NewsMax to prove my point. Both articles are on my side, but I don't believe them just because they do. I question almost every source I see, unless I see something from CBS news supporting Bush (which of course would never happen). If a right-wing media source writes an article supporting a left-wing viewpoint, I am much more likely to believe it since it is not the defacto standard.

Spectra, you can sit there and make ad-hominem attacks all you want, as it will get you nowhere fast.

This was not a case of opinion, this was a case of mis-stated facts, which we were pointing out. Whether we did that nicely is a different argument for a different post, but I told him he was wrong because he was wrong. What the media did was jump the gun and skew what the commission was saying. To take something like that as fact, without reading the commissions findings, or listening to audio of their summary, was reckless.

My comment boils down to this...a childish remark in my opinion.

I wouldn't call it childish, I'd call it non-politically correct

Childish or not, there is some truth to it - you must admit!

*semi off topic*

Did anybody see Bill Clinton basically blaming that BBC interviewer for his scandal? I got a double kick out of that one. Once again, Clinton not taking responsibility for his own actions...and seeing a BBC reporter almost soil his armor.
