Pop Goes the Gmail is a program that sits between the http://gmail.com web server and your email client, converting messages from web format into POP3 format that a program such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird can understand. http://jaybe.org/info.htm |

Well, using a pop client takes away the cool features why Gmail is nice to use as a webclient. Thanks anyways ;)

What features does GMail have as a web client that POP client doesn't. Forgive me, I just don't know enough about GMail.

1) Not having to download any email to my computer. 2) Without Gmail, I'll still be clearing 40-50 spam emails I get everyday from one of my phex.net emails. 3) Filters that actually work properly. 4) In case I get a dumb spamming virus, its not going to attack my addressbook. So for the first time, I'm actually building an email addressbook. I might switch if an Imap version is made. Till then, I'll just webmail my way through just one account instead |

The search on Gmail is also really good. Just as fast as searching the 'net.

I'm going to have to say that I don't really like the gmail address book. Everyone you e-mail is added, and most of the time without a name, so its pretty useless for keeping this organized. If I e-mail Amazon.com customer support, I don't really want the address in my book. Thats pretty much a one-time deal, and it just clutters up the book, keeping my from getting to my real contacts. Anyone agree/disagree? |

Actually, you can send your feedback on that to google ;) Everyone who has an account is a beta tester.

I agree with tom, the address book on google isn't really great, I don't like how anyone who e-mails you are vice-versa is in your book. :(
