The draft never went away!!!! They more or less force you to sign up for selective services.
Think about it if you ever want to get financial aid for your college degree you MUST sign up for selective services. And thats just one example. Actually im not sure about this one but...Dont you have to sign up for selective services in order for you to vote? And for all imigrants that want to be citizens they also have to register, and thats wrong cause not all citizens have to be register for it but all imigrant citizens are.

Son of a bitch. Canada has screwed me again!

College and Canada will not be options. In December 2001, Canada and the U.S. signed a "smart border declaration," which could be used to keep would-be draft dodgers in

"They more or less force you to sign up for selective services."

There's no less about it. I avoided signing up for a while when i turned 18....thats when the scare tatics come in and they threaten legal action. I think they gave me like 30 days to register or im in deep ****. Fun stuff lol.

It's cool though. Im almost positive id lose the health exam!

1) They wouldn't have me anyways. My uncorrected eyesight is 20/270 and 20/250.

2) This is why we need to keep the Democrats out of office. The Democrats believe that government should interfere with every single aspect of American life, and I'm frankly sick of it. And the fact that they want to include females (See S 89) is absolutely freaking ridiculous. Only someone who has nothing to lose, such as Ernest Hollings who is not running for re-election, and so close to death anyways, would propose such a bill.

In that article, it mentions S 89 and HR 163.

-S 89 was introducted by Senator Ernest Hollings, a Democrat from South Carolina, who, may I note, is not running for re-election again (big surprise).

-HR 163 was introducted by Charles B. Rangel, a Democrat from New York.

If you can find a Republican sponsor of those bills, I'll kiss your ass.

That is why we need to keep John Kerry out of office. He won't co-sponsor one of those bills during an election year, but he sure as hell won't veto it if he's President. Thank God we currently have a Republican majority in the House and Senate, so I'm confident that this bill wouldn't make it anyways.

I think there's a difference between registering when you turn 18 and actually being put into a real draft initiated by our government. At least with the way it is now I can choose to go to college and then get a job afterwards and have a life. If I was put into a national draft lottery I have a greater chance to being forced into service and I'd have to drop everything and be shipped off someplace.
