$400 sounds good for a logo for a small buisness. $250 an hour is insane. What's the going rate for the graphic design guild? $25 - $55 an hour?

$60/hour is about right for doing workaday brochure assembly in most medium sized metro-regions. If you're working for some simple shop, good luck getting $12-18/hour.

But when one is tasked to invent corporate branding out of thin air, big bucks are the order of the day as long as you have the skills to back up your claims.

I tell people I'm a freelance graphic designer. What do I secretly call my job description when my little inner voice is having a conversation with itself?

ExpensiveLance art con.

Just pretend you know more than everyone else. But you damn well better be able to back it up.

Actually, Malibu, it was no problem posting Dave's full business card online. He no longer lives at that address and the phone number is dead.

If it was still an active address and phone number I would have obscured it, or not even posted it at all.

Actually, U23's rates sound right in line with what I've heard up in Michigan before we moved...
