What are your guy's thoughts on the second half of Kill Bill? What do you think of both Kill Bill Vol 1. and Vol. 2? I was kind of annoyed that Kill Bill was split into two parts. But after seeing the second Vol yesterday I think it was a really smart move. I think it would have been a nightmare if they tried to put the two together into one film. There's some pretty serious pacing issues. They'd have to edit so much out. I loved the second half even though it was more of a love story than the first half. Any of you movie buffs like or dislike this movie? |

Ok, what you said about pacing issues and a lot needing to be cut, a lot was cut linking the two films when they were originally made, the draft script is available online, I will link it later, or google it, but yea, it would have been perfect if not split. I myself have decided not to pick a favorite of the two movies because technichally, in my persprective they are still one film and that would be like saying, "I liked the beggining, the middle was lacking and the end could have been better." Then after saying that, one would proceed to summarize the movie as a whole, or just look plain stupid with their statement. Kill Bill (1 and 2) is my absolutely favorite movie I have seen to date. It seems unreal that it is so good to me. I am VERY pissed about the fact that Universal released the DVD in Japan, meaning the Japanese get all the really cool boxset extras of Volume 1. Like the uncut volume one DVD, a 1:4 miniature Hatori Hanzo sword, the t-shirt Uma was wearing in the Okinawa Sushi Shop, a nice little booklet and the Kubrick figures. And the US is stuck with the Miramax DVD release. And we all know Miramax's DVDs tend to be the the 'pretty damn crappy' end of the spectrum. Also the fact that the Volume 1 DVD was barebones, except for the 'Making of Kill Bill' 20 minute extra which I did rather enjoy, now we all know, Q.T. and Miramax are going to release Volume 2 barebones in a few months (although Volume 1 took almost 6 months they are doing this for reasons I am about to discuss. THIS IS ALL SPECULATION.) This will be realeased early so they can put out a combined set of 1 and 2 with the deleted scenes for Christmas and will also release a Directors Cut which is the completely unedited version. Also, I am speculating the Japanese box set to be ported, I hope it will....Also to support my statement about 1 and 2 beign released in full together with the deleted scenes is that Q.T. has been quoted on saying that he liked what the 'American Pie' guys did with the Beneath the Crust specials. Just thought you would also like to know my viewing count: Volume 1: 52 times Volume 2: 3 times (I don't get out much.) |

Kind of like Lord of The Rings. All one story but I know there’s those who prefer one of the three movies over the other. Personally I liked the 1st and 2nd over the 3rd but I love the whole story. That's what I mean. I feel that way too. I’ve got Vol 1 and I plan on getting Vol 2. When I watch them I’ll watch them back to back as if they were linked as one. I didn’t know about the release the release in Japan stuff. I feel cheated. :( |

You should check out some of the stuff on eBay. -.- Oh man.... Also, here is the draft script in .html format. http://tarantino.webds.de/tarantino/movie/killbill/screenplay/killbill-script.htm Edit: Oh an just to brag, looks like I'm going to be importing that Japanese box set I spoke of, it is going to be costing heaps of money for a box set and import, but I think it is well wroth it. In Japan it is like 80 USD anyways. |
