ok, I know this is probably going to look like ass on a Mac simply because pc's suck at color. Anyway...im actually trying to finish a website for once...here is my 'logo'

need you folks to look at it, tell me how it looks cross-platform...since I know we got some mac users and some pc users, i can get an idea of what adjustments i need to make to get it to look somewhat the same cross-os.

it's been a while since I have done anything graphically...i've been suffering at work building a new tech database and it's going to require me doing some original graphics...so...im trying to get back into practice.

Not really related, but the "s" in static isn't really visible on this Samsung LCD monitor I'm using in school.

It's all too faint. There is probably no more than a 30%-40% tonal variation in this. On my mac, it looks like just a bunch of washed out greys. Sorry dude. It's legible, but not at all easy on the eyes.

The background color looks a tad dull on Mac. I'll compare later with my PC.

@spectra -- why are you sorry...im asking for you to check it so I can see where I need to work the colors. Perhaps I need to use a different pallette...this is why im asking...it's also why it's not in the graphic showcase area.

@pank - on my duel monitor setup, one side it looks great on, the other the background color turns from a blue-grey mix to plain out grey. I am expecting that...

@sidez - yeah, i know the 's' is barely visible, but I played with it and tried positioning the 'flower' in different places and that's where it looks the best to me. Tried changing the text to a different color, but it just doesnt suit with the background color.

I'm not here to be in business. I have a job. This is a hobby.

To be honest, most people's stuff looks fine. There was a time I didn't really give a damn about mac users cause eh...they're a minority. Now, i just want to make sure the site looks fine to everyone. It's not going to be heavily graphic...my typical style of simplicity.

what value of that color are you aiming for. i don't think you pointed that out. the letters do get lost as you get closer to the middle of the icon in the background. have you considered just doing a light stroke for the icon instead of the gradual fills?
