Read first if you don't know what it is I think this is good thing for mainly one reason: people who murder pregnant women will finally be punished justly in federal courts. Please note that this law exists in about 30 states already (even California of all places). The majority of arguments are going to say that this law is just a stepping stone on the path to ban abortion. I'm not sure yet at this point if I agree with that or not, we'll see how I feel after a few posts. How do you feel? Do you think it is infringing upon your rights, or do you feel that this is a worthwhile cause? |

While I am Pro-Abortion, I don't think I can hold an arguement for both sides. However, I can definately say that I think criminals deserve everything they have coming to them. While I believe a women has the right to abort a pregnancy, no person has the right to unlawfully do anything to another person at any time. A real catch-22 in terms of an arguements sake here.

I’m pro choice. I think a mother has the right to either decide to not have a baby or have a baby. I think when violent crimes come into play that person committing the crime is accentually playing the role of the mother and taking away what she does in fact want that’s murder. This is a really hard one lol. |

Well I'm pro-life, so to me this is great either way. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not 100% against abortion. I think it needs to be decided on a case-by-case basis. I think if the child is endangering the health of the mother, if the baby has severe health problems, or if the the mother was raped, then they have the right to abort their child. But I firmly believe that life begins at conception, not at birth. I don't think any mother has the right to murder her child, unborn or not. I will even go so far as to say that I think it is freaking ridiculous that abortion is even an arguable thing, it is really beyond me why some people think it is OK to murder an unborn child, but if you were to kill the child 2 seconds after birth then it is murder......????!!!! I cannot even rationalize your reasoning behind thinking that abortion is a good thing. That mother chose to have unprotected sex, so she kills the child that results? Anyway...this isn't about abortion anyways, it's about holding criminals responsible for their actions. |

I think abortion is feasible as long as nuerons in the baby's brain have yet to fire. They are not a person until their nuerons fire, they have no concious thought and technically all they are is a sack of organs. This is a grotesque way of looking at it but its true. I totally see your side of saying, "But the potential for life is there." But I disagree. There is not really any consoling between the two points of view so I'll leave it at that.
I am Pro-Abortion
rofl, the first time I read this I thought you were for abortion for everyone. It just struck me as odd. |
