Well, i skimmed this one.. didnt read everything, but i DID catch something about CMYK and RGB.. I've been told, during my current education, that it's best to work in RGB and then convert.. Just make sure your color settings are correct, and you use the right profiles (the print shop can tell you which, i only know the european standards) .. As far as I'm concerned i'd say you would get the same results, but they keep saying that: When you work in RGB you have a lot more colors (thats true as most in here know), and that leaves you with a better results than editing the lesser colors in CMYK - even though you convert in the end.. This is mostly meant for photo-editing, but I guess it's a valid answer for you question.. Hope you can use it nonetheless |

Work in RGB. It has only three channels to deal with when colour correcting etc...Also, your monitor only displays in RGB anyways, so the colour shifting when converting to CMYK arguement kinda goes right out the window. Also, switching from CMYK back to RGB will have so little effect on the image, its not worth worrying about. Utopian is right. There is a HUGE amout of information you need to know when dealing with print. At least there is if you want to make sure everything goes correctly. |

Oooh boy, look what I started. I didn't mean to WORK in CMYK, but rather make sure that's the format you send to print. I know that's nothing like what I said...
