Maybe this doesn't really fit in to the misc section but YAY! I finally have it! A 3000+ AMD processor and 512 MB RAM and an asus new motherboard. It's finally working. Still have to install all the programs and stuff like that. But that's small potatoes after all the work I put in to it trying to gather it together. Damn fan on the processor that you can put 2 ways in :P *edit* Oh yes, a few questions. I am going to install Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS (isn't the newest illustrator version also called CS?), well there has been these problems that they don't work well together. Or you have to install one first and then the other...but I don't remember in which order...? Question number 2: Anyone here using Premier, can it run with 512 Ram? Or does it need more? I have a dual Ram slot so I have to buy another 512 Rams card to get it to work if that's the case. |

You have enough CPU power for video processing.. Like the saying, the more the better.. 512 is enough.

I run premiere on 2.4Ghz w/ 256 DDR2700 just fine (and thats with PS open, a few browsers open, usually an mp3 or dvd playing at the same time...and windows blinds lol) You have more than enough! And for better performance, make sure to pick a good codec for editing (i think "video" or "animation" was a good one for editing....not sure though.) Anyway you can change it later when you export the timeline. Also congrats on the new rig!! Arent new computers fun?? Its like a holiday or something (christmas....b-day etc). |

yay new computer It's nice to have a new family member....lol that is a good processor you have there... Also I think the issue of "who gets to be installed first PS or ILL" was solved with Ilustrator 10. I'm not sure - I still use the 9 - and that has to be installed before PS or it will cause some things to go bad.... |
