BRAIN FREEZE! I have been trying to come up with a logo for a while now and I can't come up with anything!!!

I was wondering if someone can help me spark an idea. My web design company is called "DWD Media Studios"

I like the colors orange, brown and grey. So if I could use one (or a few) of those colors that would be good. I also like flame logos for some reason.

So if anyone can give me an idea that would be great!

Thanks!

You claim to be a web designer yet you can't come out with a logo?

I can come up with a logo. However, when you are doing something for yourself, (for me at least) I can never find the perfect logo or website. It's never good enough. So I am trying to get some more ideas.

web designer doesnt necessarily mean you are a graphic designer.

Either way, as a creative there should be an emphasis on producing original content. If you cannot create your own unique identity how on earth could you be expected to innovate or produce someone else's vision when you are left floundering yourself?

hmmm. Maybe we should offer some help before we try and tear him a new one? I mean lets face it, identity is one of the harder things to do.

As to "You claim to be a web designer.....", well no offense but thats a stupid comment. I mean websites and logos quite different. They require whole diff. skill sets/ideas/way of thinking/etc. Its like yelling at someone who does layout, but cant design a font. Not to mention that a lot of times.....clients already have a logo for a web designer to base the site on (not always the other way around).

(end of rant).

I agree with hermit though, you should be focused on creating original content for yourself. With that said im not going to give you any ideas or ways to use those letters but i will give you some advice.

- Like your colors. You like those three right?? But WHY???? Do they mean something? Are they used elsewhere so I can make a visual connection? Dont just pick colors because you like them. Make sure your colors play an important role like everything else. Are they memorable? Do they go together? What kind of feeling do they give off? What kinda of feeling do you want your company to give off? Think in terms of warm/cool colors, think about contrast etc.

-"I also like flame logos for some reason." If you cant figure out why........you shouldnt be using them.

- Think about the overall shape of your logo. You want a round logo? a square one? odd shaped one?? etc. What would best fit your site, or a business card......or a poster/ad. Which shape has the most meaning copared with your company, or the way you work? Say your all over the place when you work....maybe a round or odd shaped logo would do. Or say your very strict in the way you fuction (from a straight to point b)....maybe something square or angular would work best.

- Think about the letters. How can you arange them? What font do you want to use. Dont think about them as letters.......look at them like forms/shapes instead. Or maybe you dont need letters. Maybe some kinda symbol would work best?? Is there a certain way you could break up your name? If you break up the words....will it still make sense? I mean you probably dont want to break studios into an "S" and then have just a "tudio" hanging around.

Make a couple images. Then make a couple more. Atleast make 10-15 (or more) before you make any final decisions. Or after you make those, post em so ppl can comment/critique.

However, when you are doing something for yourself, (for me at least) I can never find the perfect logo or website. It's never good enough. So I am trying to get some more ideas.

Your not alone. Doing work for others is always going to be easier than work for yourself.

Also i appluad the fact that your thinking about a it/looking for ideas. These days most ppl stick there name inside a circle (the 2advanced trendy way) and call it done.
