Very strange indeed! Sometime last night my website stoped working. I couldnt connect to it nor my CP, I couldnt FTP anything, the mail server wouldnt work, my hosts site wouldnt load, neither would the hosts forums. Well i figured the host is down. No biggie....i'll sleep and it should be back up later. Well i woke up today....no worky. I tried everything again (forums, ftp, mail, CP) nothing. Then i tried a few sites that are also hosted with them, and nothing. I could connect to every site on earth BUT anything associated with my host. WTF?? Mikeydude said my site worked, I asked dek, his site worked. So im thinking maybe there is a problem @ my ISP, some DNS issue or something. I go to call my isp (there's always an automated status message) but decide first to check my 2nd computer (my old one in kitchen which the rest of my family uses). BINGO!! everything worked fine there. So its not an ISP problem...its a problem with my computer. So now i leave my house.....come back a few hours later, clear my cache (opera) and everything is back to normal. Now again, WHAT THE F****???? I could understand if it was a cache issue, but my seperate pop3/ftp programs wouldnt work either....so i doubt its that. But other than that.......i have no freakin idea what happened. My computer just decided it didnt like those few sites er something. UGH!

That sucks man, try clearing out all cookies and cache's and everything, maybe that would help. I am clueless about a lot of this, but that may help :(

That is rather strange man. The only thing that I can think of is that your host went down for a period of time and you cache didnt get reset so everything just stayed the same. Your ftp prog might have some kindof cache as well... i maybe wrong about this, but I think some of them do. That is rather strange though man. At least things arent still acting up. |

well.....spoke too soon. I went to upload, FTP client froze and now i cant do anything (again). This time im skipping the programs and trying to ping the sites from windows (mine, my hosts ) and i get host unknown....even though there aint nuttin wrong! I even cleaned out a cache or 2, restored a bkup registry just in case, and reconfig. my router. Still aint working. This is insane....possibly the stupidest problem ive ever come across.

And this isn't a problem with your DNS recieving new data or you recieving from them?

Try formatting your computer without making any backups of anything. That might work...try it...try it now :P |
