Hey all

Sorry if it sounds like a flame but Im ****in pissed. lol. I hate customers. They are th eones with the money therefore customer is always right. But they dont know JACK**** about design, yet you gotta make the website their way.

Like im making a gunclub's website, he said he wants it basic becuase most of the people usign the site will be people will really low computer knowledge, no problem. But then they start askin for stupid crap like.

"It would look COOL with BULLETHOLES in the page!!", after he pointed out that the page MUST be Black/Orange/Yellow color scheme.

Christ... lol. I get so many customers, becuase i end up making them all happy in the end, but i cant really show off any of my customers sites becuase they all have stupid ass design ideas that they wanted.

Once again, sorry if it sounds liek a stupid ass rant, i just had to get something off my chest hehe.

I always do several versions, what the client asked for verbatim, what I would do as a designer and then a compromise. Like I would put the bulletholes in the logo or something, so they get the little things they want and you aren't ashamed to say you designed it. :/
I make different versions to show the client what they say they want, and what they really want. You will have to sacrifice some design to please the customer, but when it comes down to it, you get paid when they get what they want.

Just remember, they pay your bills. if you want to be an "artist" and do what you want, then thats fine. But designers need to cater to the client. The secret is to do 2 or 3 ideas, with one really strong one, funnell them into that one idea.
