What exactly is considered "high speed" in the US? And what will it cost us?

We have a 2 MB connection now for 300:- kronor per month (rouphly $30.00 USD).

We were searching online to find an internet connection for when we move and it seemed they were offering very little actual "speed" for a great deal more than we are paying now. Less than 1 MB for over $40.00?

What are we looking at having to pay for a connection speed of 2 MB?

well most cable connections should be faster than 2mbits and those are around 35-50 bucks a month. DSL is usually slower and at the same price. DSL speeds can be as slow as 386kbps but id say the average is about 1mbit or higher. If you havent checked already, try www.dslreports.com huge amount of info on every single provider in the U.S. and some of canada.

We get a 3MB connection for $24/month. In cities where there is competition between cable internet providers costs are very low.

Yeah, depends on the city. We get 3mb+ Cable and Telephone service for 35 a month. If you are in a bigger city, prices drop and speeds get faster.

What is considered a big city? Would that be like Chicago, New York etc..?

Or just a larger city within Ohio. Sorry guys I am just oblivious as what things will cost in the states.

It all depends on the provider, it shouldn't cost more then 40-50 a month though, if you IM me on AIM (chrisz0rz7) I could probably help a little more.
