hehehe, that is quite awesome... I just walked to my stereo and put in a new blues collection I bought, with the following artists on it:

b.b. king
john lee hooker
elmore james
santana
clapton
muddy waters etc. etc. etc.

Then I opened my internet explorer and checked the new posts, and saw this. Well, I loooove blues. You should really check out the black keys, they are pretty good too.

Keith Tkachuk, Chris Pronger and Osgood play well at times, but I'm mostly impressed with the play of Pavol Demitra, when he's healthy, and Al MacInnis' slapshot is one of the hardest in history, so that's pretty hard to stop. Throw that in with the longest playoff streak in pro sports, and you've got one tough competitor.

:D Oh, I thought you were talking about the St. Louis Blues hockey team... :D

On a serious tip, though, I like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix Blues and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Clapton, BB and Muddy Waters are great, too.

Somebody let me hear Jamie Cullum like 2 nights ago, his Twentysomething (?) cd I think. Definately some talent there.

That warms my heart. It's good to see young people get into good music.

by the way, I love blues. LOVe it.

What are you talking about? clapton is 100% blues. 110%. Everything he did came from the blues. Listen to some Cream songs like Born Under A Bad Sign, Strange Brew, and Spoonful. You'll definitely hear it. Even, like, Crossroads has a blues progression going on, even though that might be more rock-y. STILL heavily blues influenced though.

Same goes for Rob Plant and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. And Jeck Beck. And Jimi Hendrix... All those guys took roots in the blues and it Really shows in their songs. (i.e. bluesy by led zep - Since I've Been Loving You, The Lemon Song, I Can't Quit You Baby, and others :D )

santana, is more latiny, but he's got bluesy stuff, it could be argued.

BB King is the MAN.

I don't know enough about blues to go on but I do love it.

however, jazz.... lol I <3 jazz too man, I could go on naming jazz artists? (you did mention it in your first post)

bill evans x a billion
thelonious monk
dave brubeck quartet (probably should mention paul desmond, he was the sax for them and was so fuggin nice)
oscar peterson
miles davis
john coltrane
louis armstrong
duke ellington

and others :D

but really mikey it's good to see you mature and start to take an interest in music like this... too many people are sucked in by the trap of simpleton music like they play today. :D
