Can I just vent for a second? I've had Verizon Cellular service for about 4 years now - and I've generally had pretty good luck with it. Recently, though... VERIZON SERVICE AND PRODUCTS BOTH SUCK! I've called Tech Support at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks, and probably about 10 in the last couple months - and they've given me nothing but attitude. What A-holes! First, I couldn't roam, then, after calling and bitching at them for the 3rd time, I can roam in some areas, not others, when my plan clearly covers all this - hell, it had better, I pay enough! Now, when I'm at work, and I don't have a very strong signal (big building, I'm on the 2nd floor) my phone gives out a busy signal, and won't go to voice mail... I am losing money by not getting calls (or messages, for that matter) from freelance clients, and it's pissing me off. I had the pile of crap phone reprogrammed last weekend (I don't think they did anything but reset the battery) - since then, I drop whatever calls actually come through, and my phone just turns itself off every couple calls - right in the middle of a call, once! I'm finished. My contract is up in June, but I'm willing to fight it, and switch. I heard Cingular is pretty good - I'm afraid that all Cell Phone Co's. suck though... my point: um... I don't know if I have one, but if I did - don't expect much as far as service from Verizon, if you're a poor sap like me, and have a contract with this waste of time company. I can't wait for them to fold, or get phased out by some other new technology. Karma's coming for those suckers. |

I don't know why everyone wants to switch to Cingular. At least in my area (and I include most of Alabama, southern Mississippi, and Northwest Florida in that) the service is beyond piss poor. Absolutely horrid service. I've been with them for 3-4+ years and the only reason I never switched is because I didn't want to lose my number. Their service has never been good. Now that this new deal is in effect, I'm just waiting for my contract to expire and then I'm looking elsewhere. I don't know what it's like in other areas, but I would advise no one to ever get involved with Cingular. That's just my 2 cents. |

Me and 3 other people in my family have sprint pcs. We haven't had much trouble with the service.

I had T-Mobile as my last service when they bought out the company I was with and they seemed decent at the time. My bill dropped from $125 a month to about $75. But that was about 1 1/2 years ago so I am not sure how they are now.

Consider yourselves ALL lucky. I'm in the middle of freaking nowhere, so our choice of cell phone companies consists of about 3 or 4 mom-and-pop outfits with phones resembling something out of Miami Vice. Many areas in southern Iowa/northern Missouri don't have service at all.
