Ha, well now that you're panties are in a bunch I'll reveal that it has just changed its name to FireFox because of some stupid copyright or some such. And there is a new version out, 8.0 available at www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Have fun, but the servers are a bit overloaded so good luck downloading. |

yeah i think the name was copyright by Pontiac. They have more than the right to make them change the name. |

Firebird conflicted with another Open Source application, not Pontiac. No one would mistake a web browser for a car, but they might mistake two open source applications. But Firefox should be the final name now that they have trademarked it. New features are a download manager, improved bookmark management, an installer for Windows, and a sexy new skin for the OSX version. (Looks REALLY nice!) But yeah their servers are slammed. There is a new version of Thunderbird out too. (email application) |

Yeah "Firebird" sounded like a really poor choice of a name for a web browser. Firefox sounds much better. |
