artist get very little with regular cd sales, so i dont see anything out of the ordinary here. The only place where artist make the big bucks is with touring or endorsements

wah, wah, wah wah... Every CD retailer and Online Music retailer does the exact same thing... Not like it's special to the iTMS. If "Independant" bands made music I wanted to listen to I'd be happy to buy their stuff. But I'm not going to buy ****ty music just for the sake of supporting ****ty independent labels and musicians.

I've used iTunes for about a month now. I've got about 20 songs. About 13 songs are by artists that I wouldn't have even known of if it weren't for iTunes.

I agree with Redeye that artists make the big bucks on touring and endorsements. To add a little on to that, I think if people are able to sample music or purchase it on the net for a cheap price it's actually making the artists money if its getting more people to want to go to there shows. To top it off they are getting a little money so their getting exposure and making a little money. They can't get it all.

iTunes ROCKS!

what other media player rips, encodes, finds track names, does ID3 tags, organizes, downloads music and burns mp3/audio CD's ??? None ;)

All that and it still looks cool too

Actually several other media players do all of that, including musicmatch jukebox... But I agree iTunes is the best at it...
