Vbulletin costs, doesn't it?
PHPbb is good and free, at least it used to be.
You'll just need an SQL database on your server (and PHP support, obviously), and to know your password for it. phpbb is super easy to configure, and easy to "hack" to suit your needs if you know how to hunt down the HTML parts of the PHP files.
And that your site is in flash doesn't matter....unless you want the board to work with flash, as that's not possible. :p

PhPBB is the best free software out there.. as for vB, i believe it costs $175 - i have admined vB before, and it is definately worth considering. I want to buy myself a copy of it in due time.

Nos.

www.phpbb.com - the best board in my opinion. Especially after 2.2 is released in a couple months.

Just because something costs money does not mean it's better. phpBB is free and vB is bloatware IMO.

I find them both very nice. I have set ip phpBB many times and think it is pretty cool, and as Tele said, when they finally get version 2.2 out it will be shaweet.... there is a test board out at:
http://area51.phpbb.com to see how the new board works and feels, although it's an alpha build I think....

But the new VB has some real nice features, like the drop down menus. Not sure what admin features were added.

But for GPL phpBB is a great example of a lot of work and how consistent open source can be.

There are lots of guestbook scripts out there. Check hotscripts for sure. Or if you want to wait a bit I have to make a php one for a few sites. No destination time yet, just soon.
