Ha. In some perverted way I agree. I think people should have to fight in wars they start. It's really ridiculous and will never happen, but I think leaders should have to fight in their own wars, not in this manner, but at least some way. If every world leader did this there would be a hell of a lot less wars.

In the 3rd age of Middle Earth, the Kings lead the armies into battle... They didn't just sit in their airconditioned palace all day having sex with their mistresses! No sir! They got on their armor and sword and kicked some ass. ;)

It would make a change to 'fight fairly' instead of resort to nuking eachother from vast distances. Also, no-one cares about leaders as much as they do their citizens, they are expendable and replacable, we are not;)

I'd take G.W. Run-a-mile-a-day Bush over Saddam Hangin'-in-a-hole Hussein any day.

Ahh but then that is because at the moment your doctrine is in the ascendancy, wait a good few years until you are suddenly the minority ;)

It's A LOT older than that, I remember reading a piece for history written by... Franklin (I think, 50% chance that I'm wrong) saying that why should the people fight the war that their leaders started... why not just have those leaders fight themselves... this was back in the Revolutionary days... ok, I don't think it was Franklin... he wasn't THAT anti-war... probably some other opposer.
