Retro things can be funny.

One of my friend's teachers said this at one point when we were hanging out:

"When I was 21 I had the opportunity to be an executive of a company providing a search service, I turned it down deeming it as pointless... man, who knew Yahoo would get so huge?"

In the UK teachers who 'hang out' with their student are normally in jail shortly afterwards;) other than that it sounds like a shaggy dog story;)

Well... it wasn't anything like that. I went to their theatre's production of Hamlet, and the teacher was there... we just talked to him a little afterwards.

Yeah, a friend of mine were talking once, and he told me that his grandfather was approached by some hippie, claiming that he had the 'next big thing' and that he could get in on the ground floor of this company that was definitely going places. So, he disregarded the young mans disshevelled appearance, and humored him until he was done with his whole sales pitch, then said he'd think about it and be in touch when he'd made his decision. Of course, he had no intention of investing in this man's company, claiming "Who'd want a computer in their home?". So, he neglected to ever call this Steve Job's fellow back, claiming further, "Who names a company after a piece of fruit?"

The house where Steve Jobs and his partner assembled the first PC is about 20 minutes away from here. Their head quarters are a walk away.

Hey, Peter Mansbridge is great. I love how newscasters really can't share their opinion on subjects. He's just reading what the tele-prompter tells him to. I guess there was no way for him to know how big it would be. I can just see him backstage.

"Internet, HA. Look at these nerds and geeks. Get a life"
