I usually don't let myself get down about things, and when I do, I usually don't share it with everybody. But right now I need my friends at Teamps.

Here is the reason why I am down.

We have been planning on moving to the US for a very long time and having my father be a joint-sponsor for my husband, since I am not currently living in the states. Well...to make a long story short we found out last week that my father does not qualify to be a sponsor. So we sit here sponsorless (if that is a word). This makes me really sad because I really miss my family and want to move home.

Sorry about dumping my sorrows on everyone, I just feel close to you guys and felt like sharing.

Sorry to hear that Mara... hey - who knows - maybe your father could find someone else to sponsor your husband?

You can't get another sponsor?

And do you have to have a sponsor to get citizenship? I doubt every immigrant has a sponsor.

He needs a sponsor to get a green card to work...I would not be able to support our family by myself. I could try, but very risky. I don't want put my children in that situation.

You can't get another sponsor?

We are looking, but have not found anyone yet.

Hmmm. I think its time we smuggle you in mara! Ive seen it done on the news a few times...so i think i know how. I will need some surveillance equipment, a gun possibly, and about $5,000 in umarked bills upfront deposited in a bank in zurich.

Either that, or this one time on the news these immigrants tried to use a 52 pickup as a floatation device. They didnt quite make it (lol), but its an idea to start with!

Seriously though....that sucks. I hope you find some way over here! Isnt there any way to get a loan of some kind?? or could you move in with your father until thing settle down?

We are gonna stay with my dad, the thing is getting my husband a green card with a work visa. Immigration requires a financial sponsor for him to enter with a green card. We won't really need anyone to pay money for us when we get there, it is just government red tape. They gotta have their papers.

Here is a link: http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/affsupp.htm#whois

It is hard to explain. Mostly of bunch of red tape.
