Since my fav PS forum runs off vBulletin, I thought I'd ask here. Me and the staff over at Only On Xbox (http://www.onlyonxbox.net < shameless spamming) are trying to decide if we should make an investment in vbulleting to replace our forums currenly powered by invision board (no pun intended). Is it worth it? I mean there has to be a reason it costs $180 or something. What is so good about it? What benefits does it have? You guys probably know since a lot of you have vbulletin forums.

You ever try phpBB? I have only used phpBB personally, and am quite fine with it - versus spending the money. What would be nice is when pank gets his skins done for phpBB. Not too excited about most phpBB skins.

If you have the money for vBulliten, and wish to spend it, it is DEFINATLY worth it. It is much more user and admin friendly. It is much more customizable and a lot more secure then other boards. If you don't have the money, then forget IBP, go with phpBB. It is a lot easier to skin then IBP.

Marble, I believe Mattboy has coded some phpBB skins for pank and they are for sale now at www.vbzskinz.com . Well, I myself went from IPB to VB because IPB was just giving us too much of a hassle and it was getting out of hand, and now that I think about it...I'd never go back.
Marble, I believe Mattboy has coded some phpBB skins for pank
Wait until Friday if you want to buy ambience or plasma. I've got to fix something. Or either buy it, send the zip to me and I'll fix the files, or if you have a good search and replace that scans multiple files, I can tell how to fix it. The tren_z skin(s) are fine. I have 2 more up for testing on the demo board (actually just wanting on pank to get back and upload them for sale). I have another one I'm fixing to put up for testing tonight or tomorrow. Marble, nothing that looks that good! :o msz, no problem. BTW, ambience and plasma do work, just fine. The fixed width version has no currently known problems. The 100% width versions just have several image path changes that need to be made. Of course if the fixed width is installed too, all the images work. :o :D |
