:D :D

Theres lots of artwork being posted, lots of people getting help, and lots of people surfing the various sections of the forums. There are some great threads going on, and some people getting some real help with their artwork and web design issues. Or maybe its always been like this, and Im just noticing it now that we have an awesome new board with some nice features. One of these features is that you can see how many people are surfing the various sections of teamphotoshop. As I write this, I believe there are 6 on 'New to Photoshop Help' and 6 in 'Misc.', not to mention the other sections which have about 1 apiece. So with all these people on the forums at the same time, why post or PM them?

Join the IRC chat!

Its really easy, and you dont even have to download any software for it. Just go to http://www.teamphotoshop.com/chat.php, type in your nick, and start chatting. Or, since the chat is going to be so popular (or if you ever want to check out other irc channels), you can download an irc client, such as mIRC, which is a free download and works very well (its for Windows). Just go to http://www.mirc.com/get.html, and download it. Easy installation, almost no setup (just type in your username), and you're up and running. Then just type in /server irc2.othersideirc.net to connect to the server. A window might pop open, in which case you just type in #teamps and you get to the teamps chat! If the window doesnt pop open, type in /join #teamps and you'll get into the chat.

The attempts to get people in chatting have so far been unsuccessful, but now that "15 users browsing" is staring us in the face all the time, maybe we'll get some people in the chatroom! So ... yeah - go chat now!

*edit - When I wrote this, I thought that mIRC was free. Turns out that its just free for the 30 day trial period, upon which you have to register, blah blah blah. Im going to search for some completely free ones for Windows and Mac and post them here. If anyone knows of any, tell us about them, along with a solemn vow that you will join the irc chat whenever you can. OK? :D Sounds good.

And the chat.php chat thing doesn't work in Safari on the Mac, or Opera on the PC or even Firebird I think. :(

I have no idea what whacked out version of mIRC you're using, but IRC is 100%, if not 12523% free. I've been using the same IRC client for months and I have never been prompted for any sort of payment.

And this installer comes from the mIRC homepage if you were wondering.

I think I am going to stab my brain out with dull, rusty railroad spike if I see another IRC thread.

On a related note, the link to the IRC channel from the homepage doesn't work for me.

If you are using OSx you probably have a number of irc clients available... not sure how it's laid out, but you should have at least Xirc or something like that. Doesn't the mac have a ports tree? If so you should have a bunch of ready to install irc clients in there.

I'm using Conversation for OSX and it is quite nice. Looks just like iChat. It's on the MacUpdate link I posted earlier. It's not integrated into the Unix part of OSX though. I don't know if there is one included or not already. It probably wouldn't be pretty if it was a Unix app...
