what a piece of crap - I don't see that it's offending - It's just a symbol. It was used long before the nazis used it so... - what if somehow we discovered that the cross was used by Gengis Khan? should we remove it?

What I don't get is why anyone would be offended by symbols like that.
Are people too weak to understand that the holocaust stuff actually happened? It's as much a part of history as the French revolution.

And, mihai, I know that all the symbols used by nazi germany at the time have roots somewhere totally elsewhere.

But still, I've just met the same "problem" over the internet alot lately, and it's always "I'm offended, get rid of that symbol"...what? Do people even understand what the word "offended" means nowadays?

If anything, people should remember and keep the symbol visible to remind the coming generations of what has happened, WWII and whatever else that's "evil and offending".

Word.

I dunno if it's solely an american thing to be CRAZILY absorbed in political correctness, such as that article implies? I think it's asinine.

I mean, it HAPPENED. And the presence of a typeface character 50 years later isn't going to cause Adolf Hitler to rise back to power, and take over the world. It's ridiculous.

Furthermore, customers now have to go through the repair process, which will undoubtdly take waaaaaaay more time than necessary, and just ultimately be way to big of a ain in the ass to make it worth it, because it's NOT WORTH IT AS IT IS.

Freakin political correctness. It's a damn joke.

I think it would be a tremendous effort if one day people were not afraid to use the swastika. It has become such a stigma that you are immediately associated with being a nazi/racist. I don't think it will ever happen mind you, people are so narrow mind. But wouldn't that be the biggest slap in the face to those who still use it as a symbol of hatred? To bring back the original meaning of it?

The question I wonder is iwch version of the swastika was used then original of the nazi one... I would be surprised if it would the the nazione...

The original swastika is the symbol of life (its hitler who transfor it into a symbol of death and hatred)... also the swastika is no in the same direction than the nazi symbol...

talk about politically correct -
I found these

He does not have a beer gut; he has developed a LIQUID GRAIN STORAGE FACILITY.

He is not stupid; he suffers from MINIMAL CRANIAL DEVELOPMENT.

He does not get falling-down drunk; he becomes ACCIDENTALLY HORIZONTAL.

He does not act like a total ass; he develops a case of RECTAL CRANIAL INVERSION.

He does not hog the blankets; he is THERMALLY UNAPPRECIATIVE.

He is not a male chauvinist pig; he has SWINE EMPATHY.

He doesn't have a dirty mind; he has INTROSPECTIVE PORNOGRAPHIC MOMENTS.

He is not afraid of commitment; he is MONOGAMOUSLY CHALLENGED.

There's an actual difference between the Buddhist symbol and Hitler's swastika; the direction of the "arms" are reversed.

The swastika, which was made infamous by Nazi Germany, was included in Microsoft's "Bookshelf Symbol 7" font. That font was derived from a Japanese font set.

Unless the symbol really is Nazi Germany's version of the swastika, then it's just another case of media overexposure and an attempt to discredit Microsoft.
