Ok, we'll here's the deal. I talked to arQer (a well known drum'n'bass producer) tonight and asked him about his new label, Monkey Bizness. I wanted to know if they were accepting demos and if there was a site I could go to to get the address. After that, he told me he didn't have a site (and they are accepting demos and he was cool enough to give me the addy). He implied he needed a flash site for the new label. This got my attention quick. So, I told him I would talk to one of my friends about doing some flash for him if he wanted.

Now here's were it gets tricky ... my friend is awesome at flash, I mean, about on the same level as 2advanced or Slayerized. The only problem is he doesn't know how to integrate it into a site and get it fully operational for users. You know, the coding part. But anyway. I figured I could try to learn, but now, I've came to an abrupt halt, mainly ... because I know NOTHING about coding a swf file into a website.

I need to learn. Quick. As quick as possible. If we do this site for him, the credits will go to us and we will get the recognition we need to get our music heard on a wider scale, and seriously up our chances of getting on a label.

If any of you have anything that could help, like tutorial sites (good ones that a newbie to actionscripting can understand), I would be really, really, REALLY, thankfull and in your dept. This is crucial! Help! Lol.

www.actionscript.org
www.flashkit.com/tutorials/

and perhaps look on www.hotscripts.com for flash tutorials!
I seriously hope you will pull this off and get a bigger audience...

good luck!

You could buy one of those flash books from Friends of Ed... They seem to be pretty good. And it sounds like this might be something worth investing a few bucks in.

damn .02, sounds like a flash boot camp for you.
lynda books has some great titles http://www.lynda.com/. i have this one http://www.lynda.com/products/books/flmxhot/index.html, it's some 700+ pages, but i went through it in under a week, was a great overview. as for the actionscripting, i'm been strugling with that for the last 4 months, so i'm not sure what to tell u. but i'm starting on a book for that from newriders.com, so u might want to check that out too.

foundation actionscript from friends of ed, best intro ro scripting book hands down. their foundation flash book is also awesome and my top recommendation for someone just learning flash. lynda's books have never really impressed me to be honest.
