I was reading the New Yorker this morning and I saw this advertisement for this really cool ice show, appropriately named, "The Snow Show." Yoko Ono is going to be there too and it opens in Helsinki (that's in lapland right?) on February 12, 2004. There is a picture of one of the ice sculptures and it looks really cool, if I lived there I would go in a heart beat.

The contact info:
www.visitfinland.com
Tourist Board: 212-885-9700
Fax: 212-885-9710
Email: mek@mek.fi

Of course all that contact info was in an American Magazine so you will probably end uptalking to people who think you are American if you use those numbers.

I'm from "Helsinki" or 20 minutes away...
Didn't even know there was going to be something like this so thanks for the tip
Have to remember this.
...and uhm...Helsinki isn't really in Lapland, it's about as far away from lapland you can come in Finland :D

I remember reading a book called "The Lapland Outlaw" and I thought all Finland was originally Lapland. But I just looked at a map and I realized it's only northern Finland.

And Sweden and Norway. Maybe also some of Russia, too - but I'm not sure.

Right?
