OK, I finished the tile for the town streets. You can see it in action here: http://www.swankstudios.com/dump/pixeltown/basic.gif I didn't bother coloring in the blocks because that would waste my time. Everything is done at a 45 degree angle. INSTRUCTIONS 1) Download the template here. (mirrors welcome! :D ) 2) Make your section of town inside the green square. 3) Mail it to me, here: christian@swankstudios.com and I will put it up. Other Stuff: You can change your area at any time, I'll just replace the old one. The street will be fixed up and have detail added to it (the dimensions won't change) when I get the time, the streets are there just for guidance. And because it's a tile, I can expand the town at any time without disrupting anything. |

That perspective would make everything look weird .. try an iso or an axonometric angle.

everything looks like it's reallly down hill. i don't see how this is going to work well, because u can't really make a normal sized building at the top of that green shape. |

Yes, very weird perspective, difficult to work with. Stick with an isometric perspective like all the other pixel towns... much easier to work with.

a little tip, make agreements on lighting... there has to be a rule for this, otherwise the whole town will look weird.

haha - I just imagined night tiles... hey maybe we can put like a terminator line - make some of the city a perpetual night thing - maybe some of us will want nightclubs - or vampires.... |

You don't make 1 building, you have your own block with as many little buildings as you want. It works, draw your building at an isometric perspective and it works fine, I tried it. |
