I'm very interested in learning how to draw in the general comic book style. Like some of Roy Lichtenstein's stuff.

It's a style that's pretty much the same in every 'comic book'.

Mark Trail is an example. I don't know about any new stuff.

I'm interested in, first, how to draw people like that and, secondly, how the whole comic book process works.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a site or two?

Um, I've always been an 'afficionado' of comic books, and am quite adept at emulating a number of styles, and did, when I was much younger, read 'how to' books. The single best one that I've ever read is How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way. Not the newer, remade version, but the original one, which was printed in like, 1975. That one has a really oldskool, Lichtenstien-esque kind of style, and is also just the single best one I've seen thus far.

One of the more popular ones, or collections of 'how to's' are the ones written by Christopher Hart, who's more of a 'Jack of all trades, master of none' type. He gives you the basic mechanics of a few different styles, without going too in depth into any of them. But if you're creative enough, he definitely gives you some good pointers. He's got some newer anime and manga how to's out now.

But as far as online tuts go, believe you me, I've looked. I have found NONE. I've recently been looking for coloring techniques, and found those in a book too, rather than online.

I'd definitely say though, that books are, in this case at least, the best resource.

thanks for the info. Well, someone needs to make a site about all this. I think it'd be profitable and popular.

I'll be sure to check those books out.
