A while back .02 was asking alot about using PayPal to start collecting money online.

Today, some buddies of mine got an email directly from what looked like an official PayPal email. It has a link directing PayPal users to verify information.

The letter opens by saying "Your account has been randomly flagged in our system...."

And there's a link in it that takes you here: PayPal

This link is fake, as you will notice it's not a secured site, there is no https in the address bar. They seem to be targeting new PayPal users and the email seems to have come from Japan after checking the headers in the email.

So I just wanted to give a "heads up" to anyone who uses PayPal, in case you're contacted by this email. I'm on my way to report it to PayPal as I'm a user of this service.

Cheers!!!

There is an http, but no www.

That is really f'ed-up!!! They will get access to ppl's cc# if they fill that out.

Take away all the numbers and it takes you to a Korean site:

i've gotten a similar e-mail from yahoo that takes me to a site called something like "yahoobilling.com", then i thought for a minute and couldn't find any reason that yahoo would have or need any credit card info from me. there's some ebay scams that try to pull similar things getting your username and password, be careful out there folks.

Yah I think ever since that Best Buy scam more and more of those have been popping up. (Best Buy scam was when some people re-build the bestbuy website and people were giving there credit card numbers.)
