Amen .02. I mean, I happen to have a mac, because it was given to me, and though I definitely like it, I wouldn't have a computer unless I had this one. It's just kind of a matter of coincidence that I have a mac, and they're my personal preference. Otherwise, if I were relying upon my own means of purchasing a computer, I would undoubtedly have a PC. Personally, I've thus far had a bad experience with the PC's that I've owned, but one was about 7 years old when I got it, and the other one, also second hand, was a mediocre system when it was new, and I got it when it was about 2 years old. Neither system lasted me more than 4 months combined, and when they went, I just didn't feel like putting that much effort into something that was just that mediocre. The PC's I always used at my school sucked, but it's kind of a given that school networks are going to be relatively bland. The one I was on, though, was particularly bad. Then, finally, I was given a mac. Thus far, given that my overall 'home computing experience' was limited to two really sucky PC's, and being that the mac I have is oretty good (though by no means perfect) it's far better than the PC's I've personally used. Thus, that is my 2 cents. |

It's not that one is better, it all depends on what you want to be doing on it. Macs have certain things that PCs dont, vice-versa. I agree on the deleting of mac vs pc threads, they are old and just stupid.

pc this, mac that....it's all the same. i actually work on both platforms. each has it own stregthens and similarities...but again, it's the end users choice and comfort level. what they produce with either is the true test. my .02 =) |

I mean 'do your thing, moderators' as in, close these godawful Mac v. PC threads. *edit* Ok, here's an idea. How about, we have some good ol' fashioned pixel wars, where those who truly beleive that macs allow them to create utterly superior graphics, can go and prove it, and those that still insist that PC's are the only way to go, can prove their skills. So, what do you all say to that? This is not to say that the stakes will be unequivocally proving which one's better, but it will attach some credibility to each side of the argument, given that winners will get to rep whichever machine that they use. I've got one idea, so far. Without using any pictures, design a case, or a casemod for Either a PC, or a Mac, and we'll vote one them. I know, people make concept renders all the time on other forums, and usually they're composites from existing pics, or 3d renders of some kind, but I think we should use only photoshop. Don't like it? Come up with a better idea and I'll get on board. |

Well, that sounds like a good plan, except for the fact that a pixel war shows the skill of a user of Photoshop, not what OS they're running. If you're damn good in Photoshop, then what you're running it on is not a factor. But from what I've always heard, using a Mac might just make the excellent graphics for you, it's that good. :p ;) |

that's EXACTLY what I'm trying to prove. And this is the only way I can think to do it. |
