Half Life 2 Source code leaked

Man this is crazy.... someone is going to get a good *ss whoopin' , but the bummer is the new game is going to be easily hacked and lots of cheats are coming out.

I'm pissed that it was delayed, though let's be honest, we knew it was gonna be delayed a long time ago and just refused to believe in it...

Welll the game was delayed... so at least they will have time to make a few change so the new hacks will not work...

I don't think that is going to be possible. It would be a lot of work on the designers side to rewrite the entire game or most of it. They could write some patches to stop the "known" cheats out there, but the entire source tree was downloaded, so who ever stole it has the oppurtunity to create cheats for the life of the game, at a whole new level than any of the cheats that came out before.

Yeah, I agree... it sucks that the source code was released, but things like that are bound to happen, no matter how "top secret" something like that is.

Yeah the game being delayed sucks, but it was bound to happen... and all good things usually get better with age ;) or something like that.

Let's just hope that it won't pull off a Duke Nukem Forever...

It's a very good game from all the videos I've seen... however, for me, Doom III will dominate it. Frankly, I'm not even going to buy HL2.

Oh, jesus. Doom III? It won't even compare. Honestly, Doom has a great engine... I'm waiting for them to make a game with it.

oh and by the way, ed, I actually don't mind it being delayed that much if in the end you get a better game. :D (rather it be good and late than crap and on time)

Why don't they simply get a kind of punkbuster on it that will be updated frequently? The game I play has one and it seems to be effective as of now... seriously it's the only solution I see to have less cheaters as possible

Um... it's 98% done. Seriously. ID is NEVER late for games.
