Hey guys,

any book recommendations for Photoshop, dreamweaver, or flash?

I am looking to spend some of the money I made from my last site to expand my knowledge.

Thanks,
Chris

Any book by New Riders or Friends of Ed I'd buy. I own a lot of them and would suggest them to anyone.

Great choices. Also Macromedia puts out a book themselves, but it's just like having the manual .

Hmm... Books I kinda want to point out

I had this book called photoshop in a classroom or something like that.

I learned probably the basic stuff from there, mostly the tools, etc. But the most important thing I think imagination and practice, I personally don't read any software books you kinda just gather your experience and stuff. I got half of my skills from teamps and place like that..

Cheers

I bought the flash mx bible... its a very big book =/
I still haven't finished it. The info is good and all, but its so big, and not super fast reading... So I think I'm gonna buy some friends of ed books as soon as they release some on the new flash

Gecko...you're READING the bible? In work we have lots of Bibles..only for reference though. It would take a year to read one of those things!

MTIV : Process, Inspiration, and Practice for the New Media Designer by Hillman Curtis is really good.

YEah, I tried getting it to read... I think I could read it faster than a year, but its not as motivating to read as some other books, so I probably wont. So I think i'll try to get friends of ed, once they release the new ones. and random, what is that mtiv book about?

Pank you sound like one big commercial. Although they are good books, I just couldn't help but notice.

Not really. If I didn't like them I would not mention them. I have the majority of their books and have read them all. When people ask me to review or check their stuff out I tell them up front that I will only give my honest opinion.

My honest opinion is those are my 2 favorite publishers... I don't have a single book from either of them I think is bad.
