Ok, this can fit in both the flash and html forum... so I just posted it here! I have this idea, and I'll try to describe to the best of my ability: I want to take a picture of my room, a 360 degree picture. I already know how to do that. However then I want to make it so certain objects can be moused-over on and a description of that object will pop up. Like if you look at the picture and put your mouse over the computer, a little box will pop up saying "My Computer" or something. A similar effect I saw here, that's Cybling Boy's portfolio site. In the portfolio page when you put your mouse over the categories a little box pops up. So is that possible with a photo? I'm pretty sure it'll have to be sliced up... but can slices be custom shaped? Thanks for any input. |

Yes, absolutely, this (and more) CAN be done. Just don't know exactly what you'd use nor how to do it. I'm going to guess a good way would be a combination of the QTVR authoring suite and maybe something like Director. Maybe even just QTVR... |

Jester : As I was looking for a camera, I ran into this site here: http://www.steves-digicams.com/ It sounds similar to what you're talking about. However, the pop up boxes here are on links, but I've seen this done with pictures. You might be able to create an image map over your room and make it work. Image Ready should be able to do this. As always, you can view the source to check how this is done on this site. Hope this helps. Cheers! |

This kinda reminds me of a scene in Fight Club...in the beginning where he is describing his appartment and the camera pans his appartment and keeps adding items into it as if they were transfered right from a furniture cateloge to his appartment. Kinda hard to explain unless you've seen the movie...anyone know what Im talking about? anyone? lol...:D

So are these proggies Mac only? I don't seem to find a free demo on the apple site. Also did you mean that my whole idea can be made with QTVR, or just the panorama part? Since I'm pretty sure I can just use Photoshop for the panorama. I mean, how hard can it be? |
