Hello all, I know a lot of you have your own site to show the work you have done and I was wondering, is it better to have a HTML site or a Flash site for a portfolio? What do you prefer? |

personal opinion, and your clientle should be the decision. if you're going for local mom and pop bizness, and small establishments, go for HTML, it works and everyone can see it. If is personal work, and you want to showcase it in an interactive manner flash is the way to go. also factor that with HTML you cant go do anyhing wrong besides make a bad UI, with flash you have the possibility of some people not knowing that their flash player is 5 instead of mx, and so on. |

What I have found out is that if your site is in flash, and one needs flash 6 or 7 to see it... they will never see it. The best (and easiest probably) route is the html way, basically everyone will be able to view it. And for a first site, flash isn't the good decision since it mostly likely come out looking like rubbish.

I opted for flash on my own site because i could show off 'animation skills'! Plus i think flash spices things up a little when used correctly.

Yeah, in your case flash is used wonderfully. Basically because you already had immense skill at it, and your portfolio is quiet impressive. However I'm sure that that current portfolio site is not your first. |
