Can someone teach me how to know which digital cameras are good and not? I'm trying to find a camera, that will take pictures which have quality like the ones at http://www.istockphoto.com but still is cheap for a 14 year old to afford. Thanks for any help.

Buy a consumers report and do some investigating. Or Google it. All big shops have customer reviews on products. |

Be VERY careful if you try to buy something mail order or online. MAKE doubly sure it's not grey market (goods from other countries never intended to be sold in the U.S.). If you get suckered in, you'll find yourself with a product with no warranty and you'll have NO recourse. Otherwise my favs have always been Sony or Nikon. Buy as many pixels as you can afford. Pixels = eyecandy 1st. 2nd, look at lens quality. 3rd would be the other beeps, whizzes, and whirrs. Look at some of the older Sony DSC-75 (or DSC-70) if there's still any around. I've got a DSC-70 pimped out with Raynox add-on lens that I still love. About time for me to upgrade, tho.... The shiznit |

www.dpreview.com The images on istockphoto are minimum 1600*1200, so a camera with a least 3,5 million pixels I'd say. I have a camera with 3,2 million pixels, and the images I submit for istockphoto have the right size, but I'm not allways satisfied with the quality. |
