Ok, as I said in X-Fusion's thread, about a site name, I'm not trying to 'steal his thunder' or anything, but I also need to get some website name ideas. My first idea was primalgraphics.com, but that one was taken, then I had the idea for endlessmachine.com, which as far as I can tell is not taken. That one's my favorite, and I've actually begun building that site. Other ideas are just pganguly.com, paulganguly.com, or potentially something arbitrary, like some kind of acronym, or just some kind of other arbitrary name. Obviously, nothing's set in stone, but I want to get a page up soon.

The time has come for me to have an actual website, so...yeah.

Gimme some ideas.

in my opinion, i always thought that your domain name, especially if it will become your portfolio site, should be something that YOU choose, and that is somewhat representative of what your work is, or something that YOU like.

i mean when people ask you about your domain, do you wanna say, "oh some guy in a messageboard came up with it" or do you want to explain what it means to YOU.

if someone critiques your design, you can go back and change it, once you pick a domain name, you picked a domain name, unless you got money to buy all the domains you like whenever you like.

opinions are great and all, but this is YOUR domain name, not anyone else's.
and thats my opinion.

Hey, yo, dont make the mistake I made, first you must consider orginality, an attract name, or your unique nick name or something, and once you find a suitable domain name, MAKE SURE go on the search engine (google, yahoo, etc) and type the name of your idea in there and see if they are taken or not, I was just so happy when I found my domain name without realizing someone's already using the name 'hybrid fusion design', so dont make the mistake I made, btw, I p/m you the domain hosting web site :D

Yeah, I understand that entire principle, I just wanted to get an idea

I'm pretty much set on endlessmachine.com, but I guess I just wanted to know if everyone thought that was too long, or hard to remember, or whatever.

I guess that's where design comes into the picture. Like, people will remember a kick ass website, even if it does have an obscure name. Like, 2 advanced probably was a pretty memorable site when it came out. And I know that now, I'll probably never forget k-whaps.com, just cuz that one's worth seeing.

Anyway, I just wanted a second opinion.

I only use Network Solutions for domain registrations. It's not as cheap, but for people with a lot of domain names, the management advantages are awesome.

not really, i know a guy with like 150+ domain names [pr0n] and he to change the DNS on them all, and he did a mass change.
that seems pretty good to me, and netsol charges about 20 dollars more just because.
but hey if you got it,spend it :D

Network Solutions is the devil. And mattboy also likes microsoft and gateway, so don't listen to him. ;)

My recent experiences with them here: http://www.onethreeone.com/blog/archives/000032.php

I use www.itsyourdomain.com they are quite good.
