I want to design my site simiular to this one - https://usbank.visabuxx.com/index.cfm?s=vbusbkw1 Could someone point me to some tutorials on how to achieve some design work like this? How do they take the pictures of the real people? Do they just snap a digital camera with a white screen background? Thanks |

This thread should be in the tutorial section but whatever I think the design is not that complicated. First, the menu bar, curve section, use pen tool or circle marquee hopefully you know how, the menu bar/line, fill color and draw some lines in there. Little black and white icons are the things you have to make yourself, be creative. The only part I'm not sure of are the blackbackground with circles I think define pattern.. make new layer, fill with pattern, then skew/distort maybe. I'm not expert #%@@ Anyways second part you said about the real people, I'd suggest take a picture either with digital camera or a regular camera and then scanner. Isolate the background by using magic wand tool or the lasso tool but you must do it perfectly then paste the selection on a new transparent background. Hope gave you little idea :D |

Depends on the photographer really. Sometimes, they do it like they do in movies and use a blue screen (I've seen them do this when they want to be able to change the background from plain white to anything they want), or they take their photograph in a white room. That's from what I've seen though ...

Hey DigDug: That site doesn't seem to difficult to reproduce to your own liking. When it comes to the people in the picture, you can use an image extract. You can view this by going to http://www.gfxlab.com/ Make sure you click on tutorials once you're there and look for the one on extracting an image. Here's another one: http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/cutout/cutout.htm In my opinion, this one is better as it goes further on how to use the history brush. If you're looking to learn how to make good curves and headers for your site, you should check out www.good-tutorials.com and click on their web link or effects link. I hope this helps you some and good luck on your project. Keep us updated on your progress. Cheers! |
