I was wondering, for your guys portfolio(not digital/online), how many images do you have in your portfolio?

I was thinking of limiting myself to have no more then 10,but I am not sure if thats good or bad..

Its better to have 10 quality pieces than 20 alright ones. Try and show that you are not a one trick pony and have more strings to your bow, at the same time, don't overstretch yourself. It's a tricky balance, but then that's the name of the game.

when i applied for upper division for graphic design 2 years ago, they wanted 12 pieces, so i would say 10-15 is good. and what hermit said, having 10 great pieces is better than 20 decent pieces.

i bring about 8-10 with me and have additional work they can reference on my web site. i'd rather show stuff i'm proud of than ok stuff. its also not a bad idea to have things they can actually hold and touch if they're good quality, like cd's, brochures, etc.

Yup, i did 8 fully finished pieces for my portfolio...but that's not all! Don't forget, they probably want to see that art is your hobby too, throw in sketchbooks (i had 3), with absolutely anything in them, nothing finished, just some experiments etc. Also consider putting in some photography work, maybe some computer art. That shows that you have a broad mind and are charismastic.
