Al Green is still alive, yes. I haven't heard anything on his health, though. The strange thing I just noticed, when reading the article on Barry, is that he had a stroke almost a month directly after Luther, at least some sites are reporting it that way. James Brown? Most people don't consider him soul anymore. Most people either say Barry White, Al Green, or Luther Vandross, when you mention male R&B/Soul artists.

Yeah, I forget about James Brown a lot. Of course you know that he sold his soul to the Devil for his skills.

You can't expect James Brown to save the industry, because he hasn't made any music for a while. This is one reason people don't consider him soul anymore. The other legends, except Barry White now, are still at work. I even read today that Luther is even working on his new video for "Dance With My Father". James Brown? He's living at home.
