i'm sure i'm not the first or the last to moan about 2advanced, but somehow with the name that they've made for themselves i feel like starting a discussion about the way things are run.... paav said that companies will look at the 2a site and think 'i want that for my company too!', which i'm sure is very true, as who doesnt want a slick site design that pushes the boundaries of webdesign... but does it? think for how long people have been trying to copy the style (are they copying the style, or have the public labelled 2advanced as the architect of trend?) of 2a, as a designer, i'm comparably fairly amateur in my skills, although i would consider my background research into design to be well developed, and as i began looking into site design, the slick flash movies and futuristic fonts really took hold of me, and i experimented with flash buttons and so on.... however as i developed my own taste in design (i'm not saying 2a lovers have no taste), i began to move away from trend and looking for something really clever, which is when i realised that so many sites push their own boundaries in different genres, no matter how simple ( for example one i saw today http://www.lorenzomarri.com/ ) what i'm saying is, what the customer wants is something special, and how special is 2advanced, after a string of similar sites, (SETC, Skyworks, TaigKhris) can it pull off anything else? i'd like to see something new, and although they have done a rusty looking site with JoshTodd.com its nothing compared to some of the less-known sites in that style.... the so-called legendary 2advanced site will always have its place, and may be overshadowed from time to time (whoswe, weworkforthem etc) and i understand that a corporate site would look silly if it was overly creative, but at least it would be different the point to this post? i dont know. i want the corporations to go out on the high wire, rather than fall off, knowing the 2advanced safety net is there. |

2A does not appeal to me. i don't particularly enjoy that style. but, i can appreciate that it is well done and a good amount of work has been put into it. to be honest, the only places i ever hear about 2A are design forums. |

I feel like they found a formula that works, and they're using it. There are also a lot of people copying it...and taking it to the next level...which then makes the formula look old. That site they did for the roller balder...http://www.taigkhris.com/ blows me away. Its incredibly complex with trasnsitions etc, yet still ver simple to navigate ect. I like the little music player too... |

i haven't a thing against 2advanced, i think their work is brilliant, just i'd like to see a new site appear in which everyone talks about and pops up on forums everywhere, just for a while

Yep I agree, I dont really having anything against 2A, but their site is... well... old in my opinion. It is really over rated. I mean dont get me wrong they are really good designers, but the hype they receive is just way over done. I think they should come out with a new design, something more modern and updated :P Thats just my opinion though. The site they currently have isn't all that special anymore... Thats just how I feel about the entire thing :P |

They are the best i seen so for that todd site is jus amaizing, BUT.... I like your site a lot better just from the creativity point of view, the whole maches thing is great and the movement is so smooth, congrats in such a refreshing site man, 2a is great but dosent bring nothing new to the table in terms of creativity. Again its just my insignificant opinion but i have to agre with you when you say that big designers have to break away from the "norm" and come out with something new and leave us saying WOW what the F***k!!!!! Just my 2 cents |
