...and as long as you demonstrate a willingness to study and experiment of your own volition. Learn the basic tool functions, open every menu, click on every little triangle you see in Photoshop's interface, looking for fly-out menus.

Refer as often as necessary to your manual and quick reference card.

We'll help, but what gets tiring is when someone seems lazy and wants every little answer pre-digested and spoon-fed to them. Ask questions clearly and descriptively, and you'll get good answers in return.

Just a reminder: One never needs to preface a question something like: "Well, I know this is probably simple and stupid, but...."

If you want to deflect any jeers about your experience level, and you think your question might be lame, phrase tham as follows:

• "How do I use the Pen Tool to create a clipping path...when it's flying out of my butt?"

• "Is there a way to merge my layers without losing the layer effects...when they're flying out of my butt?"

• "How do I make a transparent background for my save-for-web images...when they're flying out of my butt?"
