How much do you usualy charge? do u generaly meet with clients? or do business over the net or phone? i generaly have been charging around 3000$ for website that is split between my friend and I because i make the design and graphics and he puts it togehter in fireworks when people ask for logos i generaly come up with about 3 samples and let them choose 1, then ill revise it until there happy, they end up paying around 300$ if they dont like any, its a full refund, minus 50$ for my wasted time ive never had that happend i dont do any business in person, all over the net because me and my friend are only 15 and i think if people saw us they might be discouraged wit lack of exp even though were great at it |

Evan - do you have any links to sites you have done in the past? Your rates are on the higher end imo.

If you can get $3k for a site, more power to you. If I could get all my clients to pay that much, I certainly would.

What did the clients see to convince them to pay you $3000? Did you advertise at all or show them anything?

"i dont do any business in person" Your kinda missing out. My only "in person" client experience was on a college internship (so maybe my opinions wortheless lol)...but it was fun as hell. Nervous at first....big client meeting and all.......but then you get to walk in... be all high and mighty, professional and smart sounding...... trying to sell yourself. kinda like an ego boost. If i actually had a job i would love to do it again. I understand though because of your age...but maybe you could use your age for you and really show them that it doesnt matter your 15 cause you know what your doing ( something like that anyway). Although driving to the client meeting might be a little awkward lol. |

Being a 15 year old has a huge effect, unless you are making a site for your uncle or something. Most business owners are older and used to doing business the old fashioned way. They most likely will not respect or even consider hiring such a young person to do a site. And it has nothing to do with your actual design ability.
