Does anyone else use MS Money? AAAARRRGGGHHHH it's so damn confusing. I don't see how I can perfectly understand some of the most complex computer programs, and then not be able to know what the hell is going on in Money. I think the main problem is that it shows me so much stuff that I don't care about. Like investing, life insurance, planning for retirement, blah blah blah. All I want to do is use it like a check register. I put money in, and take it out. And I want it to connect to my bank to balance the checkbook automatically. Is Quicken any easier to understand, or am I just stupid when it comes to money (and Money™). |

I think I just need to use it for a while maybe. So it can build up a history. And I need to get the definite due dates for my bills and stuff so the cash flow meter thing will work and all that crap. I hate money.

It's pretty good. Use the voice help. It walks you through most the stuff...

Quicken for me. But whatever you use, walk first. Baby steps. Just start out by putting EVERY transaction into the register for your account. EVERY ATM, EVERY check, EVERY debit card... you get the idea. Then you can worry about cash flow, loans, and budgeting later.

i dint like being connected to MSN all the time, it made me uneasy. I did find a lot of information on the screen that i dont want there, and some of the menus you cant get rid of. I have a access database that does the same basic things money does except the automatic paying of bills.

Quicken is wild. I've only seen the Quickbooks Pro though, which I set up for a newspaper a few months back...I looked around and I think I understood maybe 2 words in the whole context of the program. I've never seen MS Money, though I need to invest in some money-mgmt program. Let me know if you get Money figured out, then I know where to go for help

I think I'll just do what Malibu suggested. Just use it as a check register, and after a while it will manage the budget crap on its own.
