I just downloaded the 130mb of it on my 56k! It is SWEET! But, how the hell do i join an online game? The demo of it doesn't allow you to play single player but everything else is open...even apple.com talk about playing against thousands of people. Do you need to type in IPs and stuff? When i go into (and when i'm connected) all the server lists are black. What's going on?! Sorry, i just have no clue about this internet gaming thingy

There should be a built-in game browser somewhere. Haven't played the game myself though. And especially not a on a Mac. That's the way it usually works though. Your connection may be too slow and that's why the server lists are black. I dunno. |

After trying to abuse the as much as I can, I could never find the keys for the console, or it just wasn't enabled. :[ Default key for console would be ~, but for Lucas Arts games it's sometimes SHIFT+~. Playing on 56k really isn't advised, since any ping over 100 kind of deteriorates the gameplay (unless you're some fiendish UT2K3 god).

It should work fine. I played online a few times with the demo when it came out. There is a lot of options that arent enabled on the demo though. I dont think you can access the command line on it. (if my memory is correct.) and like RedEye said, it was just a matter of picking your server. Egads though, I can't think what it would be like playing that game on 56k though =\, esp. with all those bot using adsl and cable kids.

Yes, you can run the command line. I don't know how i would benefit from it though. I think it's my connection, it's still just a black server list :( Thanks people!!

Actually, im thinking i might buy this game. What are your opinions on the matter? Are there other games (1st person) out there like this? Is the 1 player any good? It better be because i doubt i'd be able to participate in the online gaming community. Either that or i'll buy Enter The Matrix for the gamecube. Which one shall i go for? |

well in my opinion unreal tournament 2003 should strictly be an online game, the actual single player mode is very short. and if you dont plan on doing online i would recommend not buying the game. you will get bored of it after you beat it in two days. im not really sure of what fps are actually on mac though. but i do play a lot of them on pc, so if you can throw me some names. i might of played it. edit - i checked apple.com and some games i would recommend.. medal of honor, max payne (3rd person shooter), ghost recon (fps stradegy) , return to wolfenstien, warcraft III (rts), soldier of forture II (great online but single not so great). thats really all i could recommend. slim pickins' for mac. but any of those im sure you would have a good time playing. atleast i did. |

Do they have Unreal 2 for mac? We've got it for PC (in addition to UT2003) and it's great 1st person shooter gameplay, same great eyecandy--plus it doesn't matter what your connection is since it's single player only.
