What the f*ck is yayhooray.com? It looks like a big design forum. I signed up, but I can't post because: "Sorry! You have 2 points. You need at least -3 points" Anyone on there or know what this is all about? I am thinking they are elitist assholes. |

Dek showed it to me... he said it's okay if they're elitist because there is a HUGE payload of resources and tidbits-o-wisdom there. I haven't had the time to check it out in detail yet.

I'm a member, but I can't discuss details because you aren't an elitist asshole like me. OK, so I suck too. I'll try to sign up though. Maybe you get points on how cool your name is or something. |

Active point sum of 0. I think you get points for how much of your profile information you filled out. That would be why you are at 2. "Sorry! You have 0 points You need at least -3 points" How did you get 2 when I only have Zero? I'm confused. ============== 7:26 AM, the next day: --------------------------------- Charm, check your email. The moderators have to review your profile info and stuff, then I assume you get points. |

It's a self moderated forum. When you sign up you have to fill in your profile and provide links to your work. Current members see your name and profile on the front page, and can read your profile and see your links. They can then choose to give you a point, which kind of accepts you into the forum. Then you are sent an email, and you have to click on a link or something to be activate your account. Then if you post some good posts or good resources, people may choose to give you a point. The more points you have, the more control you have on the forum. If you get a lot of points, you will eventually be able to post news on the front page of the forum, move threads, edit posts, etc. If you are an ass, people can choose to give you negative points, which will eventually ban you from the forum. Points last for 30 days. You can give one point per day. Until you have over like 11 points I think, then you can give 2 points per day, etc. It's pretty cool in theory, but some people give negative points just if you disagree with them, etc. But there are a lot of really great designers there, and tons of great links. I found most of the links I posted in the "Design link orgy" thread from that forum. It's a very busy forum, so it's hard to keep up with any one discussion, but there are tons of very good critiques and very picky designers there. Lots of info to learn from if you so choose. |
