Which one do you prefer?
There are coming more and more Flash sites everyday...
Haven't really got interested in flash yet...
But I guess if I have to be able to satisfie my "customers"...Someday...
I will have to learn it...

So which do you prefer:
HTML/PHP...and all those or flash?

HTML/PHP for me. IMO, if a site is to be built on flash, it should be fully done in just Flash instead of having just a navigation or some toy on the side.

i disagree, i think less and less flash sites are coming around.

i prefer html.

i think flash is perfect for well-programmed apps, games and animation. the site should be html built around that. navigation shuold not be flash.

people are not wowed by flash like they were a few years ago. now they want content. IMO, most flashy flash sites are light on content. a few may be really slick, but you'll never visit the site again.

straight from god's mouth to your ears... get a pad and pencil...!

html here. Flash is, as Charm said, losing it's awe-effect..
I hate navigations in flash, I need to see where I'm going by clicking something. Also, I'm a "view source" - junkie. ^_^

Have you been to Macromedia's new site? It's terrible. I cannot stand to visit the Dreamweaver Exchange at all. Slow loading, slow rendering, database retrieval is terrible slow...and I'm on a helluva connection, and a helluva machine.

I wish there were more application type things in flash. I think cool stuff could be done with e-commerce and flash and other types of database driven stuff. there is a lot more you can do with the interface on a flash thing instead of being stuck with html forms. but i've never seen a good example of that. i just think it's possible.

html is still much better, realistically.

Yeah Matt_boy I was annoyed by their new site, same here, it is too slow to be worth visiting anymore....

My main annoyance with Flash is everyone was so into showing off their flash skills, that we had to sit through their shows everytime we visited their sites. I like flash when it is tasteful and quick. It kind of strikes that same nerve the over used animated gif did....

I used to love Flash because I didn't understand HTML. Because Flash allowed me to place something anywhere I wanted, I was happy. But now, as I understand HTML more, I prefer it. I'm not sure why, it just has a certain appeal to it. Simple and effective I guess.
